Terms and Conditions for Glow Within Counselling Practice
Welcome
Thank you for choosing Glow Within Counselling.
Taking this step is an act of courage and a commitment to your personal growth and well-being. My primary focus is to build and maintain psychological and emotional safety to create a non-judgmental environment allowing you feel at ease to share openly. I work within a person-centered framework which upholds the belief that you are your own expert, and that as your counsellor, I come alongside you to provide support in working through your unique circumstances. I look forward to journeying with you towards healing and hope. Come as you are.
Commitment to Your Growth
Your progress is influenced by your commitment to yourself both during our sessions and through the self-care practices you implement outside of therapy. From time to time, in our sessions we may include discussion on doing some ‘homework’ between sessions, which you may feel could be helpful to you. I am committed to your growth journey, and I am too, an active participant of my own personal growth.
Counsellors work within their areas of training, if we discuss a topic in which you require further support, and it is outside of my area of training, I may refer you to a counsellor or other health professional who specifically works within that therapeutic space.
Possible Risks
Our sessions will be conducted at a pace that feels manageable for you. It’s important to note that therapy may bring up uncomfortable emotions as you explore and process experiences. This is a normal part of growth, especially if you are reconnecting with past emotions. If you experience discomfort, I encourage you to share this with me so that we can discuss your needs and adjust to them accordingly and so that I can offer you relevant support. This service is not a substitute for medical advice. Please note this is not a crisis counselling service. If at any time you experience a mental health crisis or if life is in danger, please call emergency services on 000 immediately, or access crisis counselling support at Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Session Scheduling
Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes either in-person or online, depending on the option you selected when booking. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the agreed time, to prevent delays to another client’s session.
Cancellation Policy (including Rescheduling and Missed Sessions)
At Glow Within Counselling, mutual courtesy in valuing each other’s time is appreciated. Each session requires careful preparation and cancellations at short notice make it difficult to offer the appointment to another client.
To ensure fair access to this service, I respectfully request that clients provide a minimum of 24hrs notice when rescheduling or cancelling a booked appointment.
Appointments rescheduled or cancelled without 24hrs notice, may be charged the full appointment fee. This charge will be automatically processed using your nominated debit / credit card.
I understand that urgent or unexpected circumstances may arise. In this event, please contact me to discuss your situation, as a waiver may be considered for the cancellation fee at the counsellor’s discretion.
The full appointment fee will be charged in the event of not showing up for a booked session. During this time, I will engage in professional development, professional reading, webinars, training or relevant podcasts which would personally benefit your further sessions.
If I am unable to attend a booked session, I will notify you as soon as possible, and I will reschedule the next appointment at the soonest mutual date and time.
Fees and Payment
Individual - $125 (60 min session)
2 people - $185 (60 min session)
Note:
Fees are payable at the end of each session and are automatically applied to your nominated debit or credit card.
Kindly provide 24 hr notice for rescheduling or cancelling a booked appointment. Cancellation Policy applies.
Medicare rebates cannot currently be claimed for clients accessing services through counsellors.
Your continued access to counselling is important to me. If you are experiencing significant financial hardship, please reach out via email, a fee adjustment may be considered at the counsellor’s discretion.
Fees may be subject to change without notice.
Therapy is an investment in your well-being.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is strictly adhered to. If you have opted for online counselling, it is imperative that you are in a distraction-free, private area. If I have reason to believe that your failing to do so may compromise the confidentiality of our session, and you choose to not move into a private area, the appointment would need to be rescheduled. In this case, 50% of your session fee will be charged and applied to your nominated debit or credit card.
Confidentiality is also strictly maintained. However, there are specific circumstances in which I may need to disclose information, which may include personal information pertaining to you. This could be in the following circumstances:
If I believe you or someone else is at risk of harm (these form part of my ethical and legal requirements).
If I become aware of criminal activity.
If legally compelled by law (including a court order, such as a subpoena).
I also attend regular supervision sessions to ensure I provide the highest quality care. During these supervision sessions, aspects of my clients’ situations may need to be discussed, however, the client’s identity will always remain confidential if such discussion takes place.
Contacting Me
The preferred means of contact is by text or email. During sessions, my phone is silenced, and it is unlikely I would be able to answer your call. While I will respond as soon as possible, please note that I may not be available immediately.
In the case of an emergency, please contact emergency services on 000 or seek immediate support. This counselling practice is not a crisis counselling service.
Concluding Therapy
You are free to end therapy at any time. If you are considering concluding, I recommend a final session to reflect on your progress and bring a sense of closure. Addressing endings in a mindful manner can be a valuable part of your therapeutic journey.
Your privacy is important to me. Personal information is handled securely and in accordance with privacy laws. For further details regarding how your information is collected, stored and managed, please view the Privacy Policy.
By booking or attending therapy sessions, and by engaging with Glow Within Counselling’s website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including the Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy.
Thank you for entrusting me with your therapeutic journey. I look forward to working together.
